First post in a long time. Still recovering from eye surgeries & procedures. Burning a candle today in memory of Jeri. Seems appropriate way to end this dumpster fire of a year. May 2021 be much better for all of us.

I will be going silent for a while due to medical issues. I appreciate your understanding. I will not be responding to electronic communication other than phone calls for some time.
Went for a nature hike this morning. Everett Dirksen Park near Pekin, Illinois. Who knew there would be a waterfall on the creek. Impressive. Hope you enjoy the photos.
Felt like I was visiting deserts in the southwest even though I never left Illinois. Here are some prickly pear cactus in bloom. Visited Sand Prairie Scrub Oak preserve.
Did a bit of playing with twirl effects in Photoshop today. Original “bird of paradise” flower was blooming at our condo during our vacation to Hawaii in late 2019. Curious what others think of this image?
When you realize you live in rural America. I encountered this view while walking within our city limits this morning.
I want to share some photos of our 2019-2020 Hawaii trip. Here is a chance to see a bit of Hawaii. This is Pu’uhonua O Hōnaunau National Historical Park on the Big Island. #RememberingJeri About the park #theta360 https://theta360.com/s/pXFf2b2g5uCQk1c9cbHvaiNH6
I know these are tough times for many. As I struggle through as well, I take solace in the small things. Long walks help. Thought I would share some sidewalk art I recently encountered. Hope you enjoy.
Today would have marked the start of the 6th week my wife was in the hospital. She passed away Friday, April 3, 2020. I put together this tribute to her memory. I feel so privileged to have shared nearly half a century with her.
Good overview article on color theory and contrast ratios by @teleject Should be especially useful reading for those just getting started in design (and a good refresher for all of us - especially teachers).

The one that got away (and there is fossil evidence). Squid - pterosaur battle evidence. Short version - the squid got away and eventually became fossilized with a pterosaur tooth still embedded in it.
For those using the free Avast AV program, this article might be worth reading. Reminder, if you don’t pay for something with your money, you pay with your data.
Great article - Standards for Writing Accessibly #a11y (also applies to writing in general, in my opinion). I am curious what others think of this article.
Just learned that Google has plans to do away with 3rd party cookies in Chrome. Curious to see how this plays out. Your thoughts?
Just learned about the Clark center (free cybersecurity curriculum). Statistics on bottom of their home page indicate they have over 730 learning objects. I am curious if others have used these modules and insights others can provide.
This has been an interesting experience. Tried to update a Creative Cloud app (Audition in this case). Received error code 105. Checked hdpim.db per these instructions. Yep, data store was corrupted. Finally able to use option 3 (after unable to successfully complete either of first two options). Of course, since now starting with a new data store, I have to install all the Creative Cloud apps again. Still puzzled how original data store became corrupted.
Indeed - PayPal was kind enough to let me know about some unusual activity on my account. I would agree, this spam message is certainly unusual. #StupidSpam At least get my language correct if you want me to take action.
Priority of methods for labeling a control. Good overview article by Adrian Roselli. #a11y
